Tupac Amaru Shakur was and is an icon. The Juilliard trained actor, multi-platinum recording artist, and consummate thought leader left an indelible mark on the lives of several generations of people around the world. We decorated this piece with a drawing of the time he spat on a reporter. This ignoble act highlights the irreverence that undergirded his rebellious nature while also revealing a rarely-seen sensitivity to scrutiny. But we don't admire Tupac because he was the kind of person who spat on others.
