Chicago's Chance the Rapper is doing big things in the music industry. Chance isn't signed to a label which means he doesn't have to get pimped like so many other musical acts (ESPECIALLY BLACK artists) before him. It also means he is free to record whatever is in his heart - not what the recording execs tell him to record. This is the same spirit and attitude that the Panthers embodied. Independence. Self-sufficiency.
That's why we were inspired to reinterpret the "Coloring Book" album art. We took an image of Huey P. Newton, co-founder of the Black Panther Party, and we mashed it up with Chano's 3rd mixtape cover art.
